We hiked at Briar Hill Conservation Area in Williamsburg today. Our small band of hikers have become such great friends and share so much mutual enjoyment of what the trail offers. We also learned today that Tony got his PhD at Michigan State (having been questioned about his sweatshirt.) The beavers seem to have outdone themselves with the creation of a huge “wetland”, replete with white and pink water lilies. The “shoreline” was difficult, but we spent a lot of time there it was so unique.Gwen and Joe emerge from the beaver pond with vestiges of beaver work in the foreground. We ended the day with our bag lunches and a wonderful swim. The last of the summer? I hope not! Western MA is a marvelous place. (Please don’t tell anyone!) Penny
