    A long, gorgeous,energetic hike in Peru at Dorothy Rice Sanctuary at more or less 2030 feet. Enough of an elevation rise from Conway to give us ice covered trees and plenty of crunch underfoot.     Incredible hike today but I can’t get at my photos except for this one of Fort River (the longest undammed river in MA).Trail conditions were icy, spikes necessary. We experienced glacial land forms and the undulating grass covered sand dunes (!) that formed at the edges of prehistoric Lake Hitchcock. Amherst College is land steward… Continue reading
