Due to the storm yesterday we had to cancel the regular Thursday hike because of road conditions and a snowed in parking lot at Mt Tom. So a few of us volunteered to help the WIlliamsburg Trail Committee (Thursday Hiker Gwen is a member) break trail for their Moonlight Snowshoe Hike tomorrow night. It was mighty cold out, but because it was also a long steady climb in the deep snow, we kept warm just from the steady workout. You can see Sukee on the freshly broken trail with Mt. Monandock (NH) off in the distance. Once at the top the long view is gorgeous, looking out over the mountain ranges with Mt Tom, the Seven Sisters Mountains etc. and UMass looking like a toy village off to the East. Tomorrow night they will have a bonfire at the top, toast marshmallows, and watch the full moon rise. Love to everyone, Penny
