At last I’ve recovered some photos from this wonderful hike in Williamsburg. Fast paced with Gwen in the lead, we went through a beautiful forest which the town itself owns. Lots of small streams were running full and the weather was a perfect blend of sun and breezes. Donna’s son Nate and his wife Missy and their 18 month old son Lincoln hiked with us. They are visiting from California where they are ardent hikers, as it seems is baby Lincoln who was contented in the backpack and front sling for over 3 hours! What a healthy and happy baby boy he is. Sukee found lots of watering holes for drinking and swimming and even lolled around in mud. An unusually large cellar hole captured our imaginations as did an outcrop of small purple fungus. Back in Gwen’s wonderful yard we applauded not only her extensive gardens but also the dense Mountain Laurel in full bloom, ate our bag lunches, welcomed Lynn and Deb and Annie who joined us for lunch. Another very happy Thursday indeed. It’s official: It’s SUMMER! Love, Penny
