Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

8/24/17 – Starring Ginni & Karen at Bullitt Reservation, Conway MA

Thank you Ginni and Karen for your wonderful visit to Conway, such fun hiking, and robust barn cleaning out. Oh do come again! We hiked with three dogs, and three special guests, the weather was perfect for hiking, and everyone was in great spirits and friendliness. It was just wonderful for me to share a Thursday hike with cousins Ginni and Karen. They have “carte blanc” with the Thursday hikers. A fresh and very orange, vibrant, Chicken of the Woods fungus thrilled everyone but it was just a bit too brisk for anyone but Nancy to take the plunge into the pool at Chapel Falls. Tony and I made up for it with a swim at Conway Pond after the hike, and Ginni and Karen watched from the beach. (Oh no! They’d forgotten their swim suits:) Early on Friday, Ginni, Karen, and I set to work on the Big Barn Clean Out project. It was absolutely amazing to have their help and their creative ideas. Tomorrow a load will be hauled to the “Conway Free Market” and …. dump. Paul’s huge collection of unique coffee pots will be left intact for posterity. You really have to come and see it. It’s a Coffee Pot Museum housed in a nice old barn. And, just to let you know, the hay has had its second cutting. It was a great haying year here in Western MA. Sending a lot of love to you, Penny (Photos credit to Tony as I forgot (!) to out a battery in my camera:)
