Thursday Hikers

8/2/18 – Bensen Blueberry Place, Heath MA

Quick notes on another fantastic day. This was our fourth year of picking low bush blueberries up in Heath. We picked 104 pounds in 45 minutes, headed back to the conveyor belt where leaves, stems, green berries, bugs, are handpicked as they roll along. It’s where the fun begins! By the 6th box, we were giddy (as always happens) and verses of “Wheels on the Bus” -with a blueberry theme- had us in a hilarious state and no doubt some leaves and bugs were missed – but who cared? Have a look at the seventh photo. In the center is Mt Greylock, highest peak in MA. Chip will be hiking it quite soon. We plan to meet up with him very soon next week out on the Appalachian Trail! We’ll try to get ourselves up trail of him and have a good hike down trail to meet up with him. He is, needless to say, our Hero! The swim in the Conway pond at the end of the day was pure icing on a mighty fine day of a cake. XO Penny {CAPTION}
