Thursday Hikers

10/4/18 – MA Audubon land, Shelburne MA

Trails have not yet been cleared or blazed on this newly acquired Massachusetts Audubon land, but as Tony is the Franklin Land Trust monitor on the land, he had some maps and scouted a wonderful hike for us using stone walls and other other land features as a guide. All my photos of the land, including the interesting remains of a 1930 “camp”, didn’t convey from the camera. So instead here’s a look at the fun the dogs had when we came to a small lake, a winterberry bush, hikers, the mountains all around us, and our brown bag lunch at Apex Orchard’s picnic table with long distance views. But the real hiking news is all Chip’s as he nears Mount Katahdin and the end of his totally incredible hike on the Appalachian Trail. I hope the sun is shining where you are and, if you get this Jack and Myrna, that your vacation is not only sunny but absolutely Superb.Love, Penny
