Wha a happy day!! We almost cancelled today’s hike, but we were so hike deprived from two weeks of hike cancellations due to the heavy rain and then the Polar Vortex, that we sluffed off today’s weather report of drizzle and ice and headed up to Notchview. It was so wonderful – almost “fake beauty” all around us. 1/4” ice coatings on twigs and trees and then some fog as we crossed an open field. A bridge had gone all askew from a tree fall so we got adventurous, with Tony in the lead, and crossed a semi frozen stream. Nobody went swimming (!) so we trudged on through some of the prettiest scenery one could hope for. Lunch at the Creamery with a celebratory mocha raspberry cake for Elaine’s birthday.
