Snow had turned to freezing rain and it wasn’t looking promising for a hike. But we went anyway and ended up having a beautiful 3 hour hike in fairy tale conditions, with the sun occasionally breaking through. When it did, we’d just stand in it and and “forest bathe”. Ah!
The dogs starred today, romping, vying for the best sticks, and lining up for treats. We really do love our dogs. At one point we actually had to go out on a road and put them very briefly on leashes, They seemed confused by our efforts and were happy to be freed up again once back in the woods. Tony explored a massive piece of machinery found in a clearing in the woods. Suki watched protectively until he got back down.
A late lunch at “Wild Roots”. I had cheddar, apples, and arugula on multigrain bread, lightly grilled. Muy bueno!! I bet you’ve noticed an upswing in bird calls too. Spring is a tantalizing thought, isn’t it? Stay well, Love, Penny
