We were so happy that last night’s snow was shovelable and plowable and we all got to the perfectly plowed DAR parking lot at 10. What a fantastic day for snowshoeing. New dry snow, with a mix of blue sky, clouds and sun, and temperature in the 20s. Gwen is “dog sitting” for friends who are out West skiing, so we all got to meet beautiful black “Bella”. Sukee and Annie made friends with her in very short time. They explored together, heading out on their own, and always checking back in. (We carry dog cookies in our pockets.)They are truly great dogs. We started out on the road through the forest, then through the 4H camp cabin area, then into the woods up to Balancing Rock. Tony and Donna hammed it up by “holding up” a big blow down tree so we could get safely under and continue on the trail.
We all expressed how thankful we are for one another, where we live, the amazing snow that fell, our good health, and of course, the dogs. A short drive to Country Pie Pizza where we had yummy pizza slices and tea or water, planned for next week, and talked about the memorable day we’d just had. Happy month of March to all tomorrow, and welcome home Ed and Christine, Love, Penny
