This is a Kestrel Trust newly opened conservation area on only 70 acres that gives a lovely “stroll through the woods”. And stroll we did! Such fun today. We saw the first Painted Trillium of the year and spent lots of slow time ambling along the Sodom Brook. It’s just so wonderful along its banks. We came upon what is called the “Sitting Area” so, of course, we sat! Donna suggested charades, so we did! Oh so much laughing and consternation. Tony acted our “Naturally Curious” (but no one got it) and Lissa cleverly performed “All Creatures Bright and Small” (but nobody got that either). Too much laughing I guess. Too much fun indeed. Tom wore his Monty Python “Nobody expected the Spanish Inquisition Shirt” so all in all it was an early Spring day of feeling silly as well as freed up from ice, snow, freezing fingers, snowshoes, spikes and long underwear. AH! After sloshing through lots and lots of wet trails we ended up at the Overlook General Store and Eatery. I had the “Mother Nature” wrap- lots of veggies bundled up together in a whole wheat wrap and a bottle of iced tea. Conrad (and Elaine) treated themselves to a walloping dessert of grape nut pudding with whipped cream. We all just watched in wonder as they devoured them. April sure is speeding along. I’m sure you are loving it too. Penny
