Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

5/23/19 – Saw Mill Conservation Area, Leeds MA

A four miler with rocky trails, muddy trails, trails full of water. All in great Spring weather, and with great high sprits among us. Good dog Sukee had so many water holes to swim in and drink from. In a swampy area, we saw a yellow jelly fungus that we’d never seen before. We ate our bag lunches on top of a high drop off where rappellers practice rock face climbing. We stuck close to the edges and also enjoyed chocolate treats from Bouchon bakery that Paul and Tara had sent me for Mother’s day to share with the Thursday hikers. They were SO delicious and … there are none left. (Sorry!) And many thanks from the Thursday gang. Last three photos: an Azaela (but which one?), Gay Wings (Polygala), and a pink Lady Slipper in beautiful full bloom. And, oh, there were so many other wildflower finds!! That’s it for now, Continue to celebrate the beauty – and warmth!- of Spring, Penny {CAPTION}
