    Dorothy Francis Rice graduated from Smith College around 1920 and died shortly afterword from tuberculosis. Her well to do family donated several hundred acres of their beautiful land in Peru MA in her name and memory. It’s a long “up mountain” drive on dirt roads to get there, and once there it’s as if we’ve returned to a familiar bit of heaven.
