It’s so good to be hiking again. Tony did set out with us but found he wasn’t yet up to it although he is making slow and sort of steady gains.
MA Audubon is working on an extensive “Ecological Restoration” project that must have displaced a small frog. Conrad and Elain heard frog croaking noises in their car and there was the frog perched on Conrad’s shoulder. (Looks like a toad to me.)
Back to my house with bag lunches and socially distanced chairs in the very welcome shade of my yard. Deb* had brought a bag full of chicken wishbones (she admits to eating a lot of chicken). We all reached in and took one and made wishes and pulled up on those those bones with the person next to us. Winners with the big piece of wishbone got to go another round, and then another, Deb taught us a sort of Eeny Meeny Miney Mo way to indicate who got to start etc. It’s in Swedish. Here it is for you to have as much fun with it as we did. (We did a lot of laughing on Thursday).
“Ole dole doff Kinke lane koff Koffe lane, binke bane, Ole dole doff.” (FYI: doff and koff are the only one syllable words).
Then off to the Conway Pond for a wonderful, long swim together. Conrad and Tom acted a lot like the other 8 year boys at the Pond, while the rest of us acted a few years older than that! With so much love coming to each one of you, Penny * Deb didn’t hike Conwy Hills with us because she .had hiked big Monadnock (elevation 3,165) on Wednesday!
