Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

7/23/20 – Old Cricket Hill Road,Conway State Forest, Conway MA

Map confusion started the day off with lots of fun figuring out what trails we’d hike. After 2 1/2 hours of great fun and great hiking we knew we had had found the perfect trails for the day. Then back to my house for changing into swim suits and over to the Conway Pond for a much needed cool down swim and bag lunches on the lawn. Alas the rumble of thunder and a lightening bolt had us scrambling back to our cars while an eagle flew right over our heads That beautiful 1700 colonial home is way way up in the woods. It was brought from Connecticut, all boards etc numbered and rebuilt on a gorgeous piece of land with a long view. The owners know us and were happy to have us traipse up to the view. Next week: We’ll hike Devil’s Den. Tony is not able to hike yet, but he comes along for our send off and rejoins us for the swim and lunch. Grandma just had to slip a happy photo of Claudia and Paulie into the report. They were on their first shopping trip to the store in 4 months since COVID started! Stay well, Love Penny
