Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

12/14/20 – North Hadley MA

We hiked on Mt. Warner, one of our “go to” hikes. (So of course I forgot my camera!) Happily, these photos have come in from hiker Lissa so here’s a short hike report. COVID is spiking here in Western MA, as is deer hunting, therefore all the hunter’s orange clothing and COVID masks. It was a joyful day of being together again at Mount Warner. It’s at the “summit” of Mount Warner that we once planted a “Stop the Pipeline” flag. Shouting out political “frustrations” took the place of flag planting on this hike and hopefully our sentiments were heard as they echoed down into the valley. We hiked down past two semi filled vernal pools. ice needles, the place where we once saw a white ermine, and the big basalt boulder where another photo was taken. Then we headed to North Hadley Sugar Shack where we either bought sandwiches or brought our own and ate outside together in a nice sunny spot. Elaine made lovely lemon cookies to share for the celebration of Lissas birthday. It was as good as a day out with good friends can be. Have fun in the snow if it comes your way, and stay well too. Best, Penny {CAPTION}
