2/12 miles through Hawley Forest on good trails; temperature in the 20s with wind and snow flurries. Spikes rather than snowshoes. We kept moving along to keep “warm”. But there’s always something to identify or wonder about, and there was a lot of that today along with lots of fun (as always on the Thursday hike). The parking lot was so frozen over that we didn’t have our usual apres hike winter picnic.
Deb has bought good dog Annie a new coat! That “coat of many colors” seems to be keeping Annie warm and, as well, she’s easy to spot when she’s “off trail” (which is most of the time). The cold is still keeping us from taking many photos. My hands prefer the inside of mittens to the windblown cold that’s outside the mittens!
I hope you are either vacccinted or have an appointment set up. I’m happy to have had both the first and second shot of the Pfizer vaccine. “Kids” are coming up to ski this weekend. We just may see each other unmasked for a bit! Stay warm!! Love, Penny
