This historic and wonderful trail used to go all the way from Shelburn to Conway skirting the Deerfield River. (Now there’s a pleasant memory for me, Linda!) Now for a few sad reasons it no longer does go all the way to Conway. BUT what a wonderful day we had. Girls day out …and just 5 of us! Other hikers hiking other places (like Yellowstone and in Utah), or putting gardens to bed, or, alas, having a sore foot. We met up with Jim Murphy – a well know and very fine artist and had long wonderful talking together. (No photo of Jim, sorry). I hope you can see what a joy it is to walk along the river, sometimes way above it, sometimes right down on it. Fortunately the “Horn” NEVER “blew” so we happily survived the day even eating lots of wild grapes (Nancy even eats the seeds.) Beautiful place, and I wish with all my heart that YOU had been with me. XO Penny
