Thursday Hikers

10/14/21 – Busby Trail at Savoy State Forest

This 4 mile hike is one of our favorites. We were excited to be there together again with such good weather and good leaf color. Off trail exploring is always irresistible as there’s there’s always so much to see. But we did need to py attention to the steady climb up and the steep way down. The terrain is varied, with some fun challenges and incredible rock outcrops. Bag lunches, and lots of nonsense at the top. Some cloud cover cleared and we got a good view of Mt. Greylock. Chip hiked up and over it when he hiked the Appalachian Trail. We send him our hearty regards….and great admiration (That;’s a limestone quarry in the bottom of the photo.) The coloration of the Viburnum leaves caught my attention – as they and their flowers will catch it again again when Spring comes. Thinking of each of you and wishing you good adventures.
