Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

10/21/21 – Black Rock Conservation area, Greensboro Vermont

This was our first hike at Black Rock where “bouldering and rock climbing” is featured. After 4 1/2 miles of it we admitted to having had a wonderful and challenging day together. Remains of a granite rock quarry were exciting to see and esplore and the way to the “summit” was a wondertul and challenging climb. A large beaver pond at the start offered gorgeous tree reflections in its waters. We posed for a group photo on a wooden bridge over a wonderful mountain stream. Then up up up tp the “summit” eating partridge berries along the way. Lunch at the top with long views into New Hampshire and time for Lissa (masked and just out of a 10 day Covid quarantine although she had been fully vaccinated) to snag a little nap with Good Dog Annie (who had hiked 6 miles with Deb yesterday). I am so thankful that I can be out on the trail with my hiker friends again and thankful for the prednisone that has me feeling so incredibly back to “normal”. But I so miss having Tony and Sukee with us, as does everyone else. Indeed, there is always so much to be thankful for. XO Penny {CAPTION}
