A celebratory day on wonderful trails and with a bit of of rise in the temperature that made the day as joyful as we all were to be together in it. This was our yearly Christmas gift exchange hike, and rather a nostalgic hike too.. While we stopped and talked, good dog Annie used her nose to explore things we may never know anything about. I brought both kindling and firewood that Tony had cut and split and after the hike, Joe and Conrad built a bonfire. Donna brought shrimp and cocktail sauce and we indulged ourselves before settling down to our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Wonderful Lissa rose and read a piece she had written about….all of us…our friendship… and of course,Tony too. Donna read the list of topics that just might be the start of our book of our hiking memories. and our friendship. Deb got shivering good dog Annie up on her lap for warmth and we all, I know, were amazed and thankful for the day, and years, that we’ve had together. Stay warm and well. Love from Penny
