It’s here every spring that we happen to see our first Skunk Cabbage. Tony would pretty much run ahead until he found the first one. But today was a perfect winter day. Icy underfoot for sure but we all wear spikes so it’s fine.. We had two good dogs, Annie and Chance, friend Harley, and Donna’s 5 year old son Lincoln. and Donna’s son Nate with us today. . Paulie and Claudia (and Paul and Tara) have hiked with Lincoln and Nate and how I wish they thad been with us too. Nate gave Lincoln a little talk about going out on the pond ice, but it wasn’t soon before the dogs had gone out and so Lincoln tried to follow and went through but it was shallow enough not to mater much. I think he learned his dad’s lesson though! We came upon an old shed full of nifty junk including a great old sled. It was no less than a Flexible Flyer and I know that a lot of you will remember those!!!! It was 3, maybe 4 miles of great fun and adventure. Lincoln had packed raspberry muffins for himself and the dogs were ever vigilant whenever he took one out:) I have so many photos from today, but, I guess, “That’s Alll Folks”. except one of a pretty little bit of ice that was in a small stream. The dogs surely missed Sukee and we all surely will always miss Tony. Stay well and warm and happy, With love fromPenny
