Such great hiking weather and such a great hike. This was a favorite hike for Tony and Sukee, as well as one of the first hikes that Thursday hikers had together years ago. We took the Rivulet trail to the Pine Loop Trail into the Old Growth Forest that is now intentionally left intact and on its own. It can be like walking into a poem or however it might speak to you. It’s quiet and wonderful. We celebrated both Elaine’s and Joe’s February birthdays with our bag lunches followed by a 5 star chocolate birthday cake with chocolate icing that Lissa had made. Good dog Annie, not a partaker of chocolate cake, fell asleep in Deb’s arms at the party. A better day of friendship and memories couldn’t be had. There are hints that Maple Sugar Season is about to rev up! Yum! Love to all of you, Penny
