We’ve set ourselves the challenge of walking all the trails in Dubuque Forest. It covers 7,882 acres with 35 miles of trails. Today we hiked 4.2 miles on some old roads and on many unblazed narrow trails winding up the mountain through the forest A perfect 63 degree November day, and surely one of our most memorable hikes. Lost occasionally, we soon found the trails we needed.It was a whole lot of fun being out there together today! One sweet cellar hole, several ponds with lively slamanders, and even a man on a very quiet Yamaha cycle who was lost! He reported he was once a hiker but can’t do it anymore so in order to get out in the woods he drives on the old roads.But he was lost! So Conrad got out his GPS and ws able to send him safely on his way. After nearly 4 hours of hking we drove to The Creamery for sandwiches and a lemon blueberry cake that I had made for Conrad’s birthday. We were all sorry to have such a perfecr day together cometo an end. Los of love and good health to all of you,Penny
