Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

12/22/22 – Katherine Cole Conservation Area, Sunderland MA

This delightful 2.9 easy hike had lots of water features, a long narrow wooden footbridge, and low walkways over some of the really wet places. The second photo suggests a place that you Daleys might remember where we would go ice skating around the hummocks on our double runner skates that strapped on over our shoes. There was no snow down in the Valley, but here in Conway the ground is snow covered. That rain/wind storm will be blasting through here tonight so we’ll see how things look in the morning. There were lots of exposed roots on the well worn paths to make the going at least a bit challenging in the 24 degree day. These wonderful places, quite surrounded by development of all kinds, really speak to the great need for conserving nature.Thank you, Katherine Cole! And Merry Christmas everyone, With love, Penny {CAPTION}
