Mount Warner is a keeper in our hike list. The trails are really good, although today most of them had become streams of water so we walked beside them on mostly deep, wet leaves. Once at the “Long View” we always stop and see if we can name the mountains in the distance. It was surprising to see how much the snow had gone after the 12” of snow that had recently fellen. It had been followed by rain and above freezing temperatures. A wonderful glacial erratic just begs for climbing. Our dogs, Livvy and Cash are so diferent: Cash, a tentative, sweet rescue dog and Livvy an energetic, unstoppable explorer. We had a group portrait taken at the “summit” where once Tony inspired our planting of the “Stop the Pipeline” flag we had made.. The “summit” is really a special place , filled with good memories for all of us. The big vernal pool was only partially iced over. We’ll return in April or May to see it alive with spring peepers, wood frogs and salamanders. Last photo shows Lissa skirting an overflowing trail bed. Lunch at Wild Roots eatery and a delayed but rousing celebration of Donna’s birthday . Happy, Healthy, Peaceful New year to all of you, Penny
