44 degrees, glorious sunshine, 3 beautiful miles, and no wind….we couldn’t ask for more for our yearly campfire/pot luck/Joe’s birthday celebration hike. The trails around the lake were beautiful and n-ICE-ly challenging! Friend Gwen, who broke her arm in a bad fall last year, rejoined us at last and managed to have an abbreviated, but pretty good hike. At one of the needed rest stops for Gwen, we played a few rounds of rock, paper, scissors….of course we did:)!
Sorry no photo of the campfire itself. But lots of wood that Tony had split was in the fire: a poignant reminder of all he still means to us. Delicious applesauce birthday cake made by Lissa wrapped up our day together – along with the thankfulness and inspiration we all seemed to feel. Happy Valentine’s Day Love, Penny
