Only 2.3 miles but so many discoveries and so much fun that it took us 3 hours to hike it. So many trails to choose from and so well led by hiker Lissa. First photo is a red shoot on Rosa Rugosa, a signal that it has a virus that is now killing the Rosa Rugosa invasives. We’ll be keeping an eye out for it! A perfect weather day that sure roused excitement when we spotted Polygala (“Gay wings”) that we’ve only ever seen before in Tony’s woodland meadow and Wild (Canada) Anemone and others just as exciting. It’s a lowland wet sort of area with lots of boardwalks and bridges and muc and beaver dams and great swaths of Jack in the Pupits (not in bloom alas) and False Hellebore too. As Dr. Seuss declared: “It’s fun to have fun, but you have to now how”. And I think we really do know how! I bet you do too. Lots of Love, Penny
