Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

1/30/25 – East Leverett Meadow, Leverett MA

20 degrees, 3.1 miles, wind and some sun on familiar trails with good snow cover. Some streams were frozen over and others had a bit of open water. Two fields to trek through, one a former blueberry picking place. But the wind really blew hard on us when we were in the fields and it was good to head back into the protection of the woods. At the frozen lake we loved seeing our old friends – the rather comical grass hummocks, still on the march! After such a perfect hike together, we headed to Cushman’s eatery where I had a local goat cheese, spinach, and onion sandwich on grilled ciabatta bread along with a great big cup of hot tea. There will always be good things…but sad things too. With love fromPenny
