Energetic 3.6 mile hike on some challenging trails in a beautiful forest in Ashfield MA. Like so many trails these days, upkeep is diminishing and we came across 5 places with sizable trees down over the trail. It added some fun to our day and we all agreed it turned out to be a totally wonderful – very demanding! – hike. Bag lunches in the small garden of the estate. Bullitt was an ambassador to England and France and his life story is very interesting. We’re hoping to go to the Chesterfield MA parade tomorrow. Thursday hiker Conrad will be in uniform leading the parade with other men in uniform. Happy Fourth of July! I hope your memories of it are as wonderful as mine are. Penny
