There was a hint of colder weather as we set out this morning on 2 miles of flat, easy, very pretty trails with lots of towering trees and lots of dappled shade. When the sun came through, it was really v beautiful. Because it once was a swanp, there was a place where the trail was quite like a long shallow brook! Oh what fun we had getting through it. The water was at least 7inches deep with no way to hike around it. So we dragged some fallen tree trunks into the water for use as a makeshift footbridge. Much fun, lots of silliness, and 26 wet feet ensued! Lunch followed at Cushman’s Market. I had a really good salmon sandwich and lots (more!!!) water. I hope you’re enjoying this good October weather and that you, Sue, are home at last! Penny
