Rain was falling, but it was forecast to be “intermittent” so our hike in Goshen got a “yeh” vote. We were all so happy that we hadn’t called it off as we had a totally delightful 2.9 miles through this magic land of glacial erratics . Good dog Jax (on a very long leash) loved climbing the rocks. Most of the trees have dropped their leaves and the trails were deeply covered in a delightful mix of pine needles and leaves. Around one o’clock we headed back to Ashfield for lunch at Country Pie Pizza just as the rain stated to come down harder. A Halloween sign encouraging good behavior in children, pizza slices, a birthday cake for Conrad, and ice cream cones (Bob’s treat!) from the very eclectic Ashfield Hardware Store and then, with hearts filled with the fun of the day, we headed home. We are bracing ourselves for the very unwelcome clock resetting and, in time, will get used to the early darkness at the end of the day. Hoping all is well with you, Penny
