Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

7/16/15 – Savoy Mountain State Park

We had a full day of hiking 5 miles on rocky trails with a steady climb to the top of the mountain, then a rocky and very beautiful 2.8 miles back down after having lunch at the top. The views were long distance and exhilarating. We were delighted to see so many Clintonia (a Spring favorite) now with their handsome blue seeds. (Is summer flying by?) Coming upon so many low bush blueberry bushes loaded with perfectly ripe blueberries, we allowed ourselves to indulge in some berry picking and eating, leaving plenty behind for the birds and bears. This was a great hike, the weather was perfect, and I I’m heading to the hammock for an apres hike nap! xo Penny
