Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

1/11/18 – Rivulet Trail, Cummington, MA

The break from the awful cold weather had us revved up and happy to get hiking. We started out across the open field at the Wm. Cullen Bryant Estate, which is a Trustees of Reservations property. Snow conditions were excellent for snowshoeing. Frozen water droplets seemed to fall in slow motion from the tops of the huge old growth forest trees. It was exciting to watch them come down and even to try to catch in an open mouth as we (once again!) celebrated our “second childhoods”. Good fun today! Good food too, after the hike, at The Creamery. I wish I could gather there with all of you someday. I had their always delicious Red Lentil Curry Soup with a piece of grilled cornbread on the side. Joe’s lasagna looked good enough to steal. Donna and Tom (our ardent herpetologist), leave on Monday for a full month in Costa Rica! We will really miss them – and possibly even envy them a bit. Until next Thursday, Stay warm and happy, Love, Penny {CAPTION}
