A wonderful, easy walk in the woods today with perfect weather that turned into a cold rain (but only after we’d hiked). Tall big oaks and Tulip trees; a sweet meandering stream with some dammed up swimming holes – just perfect for you and me, Ellie; Indian Cucumber showing Autumn display red centers; stopped for a posed photo on a little bridge; Gwen reminisced about her days with Kit, and we played a silly game of charades at a “gathering place” in a clearing. Just a slow and and wonderful day in the woods. Lunch at the Lookout eatery where I had a turkey, cranberry, and apple stuffing sandwich on grain bread. I heard that the minestrone soup and the BLTs were great too. Update on Tony: He had his first immunotherapy treatment yesterday with no side effects. He was really happy to get hiking again today.
Autumn has arrived, the days are shorter, so let’s all start making soup! Love, Penny
