2/27/19 – Two Bridges Trail, Ashfield MA

Windy, cold, icy underfoot – it’s still wInter, but with hints that deep winter is losing its grip. The trails were littered with debris from the trees that the wind had brought down. And the wind didn’t let up! In the photo of Deb, Nancy, Elaine and Tony around a sizable tree trunk. we had discovered (by accident) that you can feel the beat of the movement of the tree top all the way at the bottom of the tree as the tree sways in the wind. Quite a wonderful connection to the elements!! I amuse myself when we have a “three dog hike” to see if I can get a “three dog photo”. Generally all I can get is two and a part of a third dog. They are such rascals, and also are our wonderful trail companions. I stopped to admire a branch with insect trails “hieroglyphics”. We ended up at the “pebble” a towering and wonderful glacial erratic, and then wound our way back down from the hike with views of local hills and of one of our favorite hiking ridges. It was a perfect way to spend the better part of a day. To all you Winter Campers, I really miss you. It was so, so much fun. Thanks. And to all, Stay well, Love , Penny
