I hope you are finding lots of opportunities to get outside. The young (under 80!) Thursday hikers are still hiking on established trails in Western MA but Tony and I are sticking close to home during COVID19. We’ll rejoin the others when the viral “coast is clear”. So today we hiked on Tony’s land, following the “Beaver Brook” that falls 300 feet to where we ended up with it today: where in the 1800s there was a mill pond created by a now breached stone dam, It’s a pretty area just waiting to be explored and cleaned up. It inspired us! We thought of all the projects we could do to clean it up. Small waterfalls and lots of stunning rocks in a really inviting setting had us highly inspired. We pulled out invasives (mostly honeysuckle for now), made brush piles, ad are planning to come back and cut out fallen trees Tony’s also wondering where to best construct a bridge to make crossing the stream easier, and we had a lot of fun looking for the perfect – but still elusive – spot. I think of every one of you and with great hope that we will regather in celebration one fine day not too far in the future. Until then, please stay well Love, Penny
