What a beautiful day for heading into the woods. Snowshoes on fresh unbroken snow, 24 degrees, some sun, some falling snow, some blue – or was it violet?- sky. We’ve hiked these trails many times and in all seasons of our 8 years of hiking together. Today they were at their winter’s best. Tony’s dog Sukee, now 11 years old, stayed home today and Deb’s wonderful dog Annie got some extra attention in the cold weather. I wish you could have experienced the stunning trees of the old growth forest. They are such amazing quiet old giants. Trustees of Reservations has custody of these trails and the old growth forest is left undisturbed. Looking ahead to February’s hikes! Best, Penny
