Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

6/16/22 – Dubuque State Forest and Charlemont MA

A really great 3.9 mile day. Photos don’t show it well. The trail into these deep quiet woods is high on my list of favorite trails. Sweet little Wood Sorrel was in bloom. Two octopuses (I checked and that is the plural! of octopus) one gray, and one brown, crept over some big rocks. Fuungi looking like pancakes seemed drenched in Maple syrup! Bag lunches at Hallockville Lake. Watermelon and strawberries for Lynnm’s birthday dessert. Then! Off to Charlemont to check out Madge’s woods and my woods. She’s just back from a hiking tour in England!I The single flowered Pyrola is blooming again in my woods. Horrah! It is on the “watch list” for endangered plants. I stopped to take a photo of Berkshire East Ski Area . It was looking wonderful. Happy first day of summer on Tuesday! Penny
