Bear Swamp is in the top 3 offavorite Thursday Hiker hikes. It was a mecca for Tony and Sukee. But today turned out to be “Ladies Day” on those challenging trails.as Joe is in MI, Tom hd a “procedure”, and Conrad had to stay back and deal with his septic system. Once we made it to one of our favoriue lookout spots, we perched on some rocks and took in the very colorful view. . Good thing there were red trail blazes once in a while because, although we know these trails very well, once covered with leaves they are rather tricky to find. Rain let up and we really had a wonderful day of wonderful AUuumn colors and weather. Off to CountryP ie Pizza in Ashfield for lunch out on the porch (I thought about the time when Phil, Ellie, Tony and I had pizza out there). I took a photo of the “August Nature Sightings Whiteboard”.( I think they’ve forgotten to update to October). Quite a few Bobcats, Bears, and Turkeys, also a Moose, Wood Turtle, Porcupine, Skunk (:a cute one” apparently), a fox and a pig at the dump etc. Have happy days everyody, Penny . P.S. Tony’s memorial stone that will bea at the Conway pond will probably be “engraved” this week, possibly installed next week or the week after. Will let you know, Tim and Diane.
