Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

11/10/22 – Wendell and Shutesbury MA on lots of old roads and trails

A 3.9 mile hike on old roads and trails on a 68 degree sunny November day. We came upon what must have been one of the many Wendell commune communities from the 60s, with crumbled small dwellings and intriguing cellar holes. Joe entered one of the dwellings through a door …..with a (useless) lock still on it. Nature find of the day were Red Meadow Hawk dragon flies, small dragonflies (perhaps 1 1/2”) that were wonderful to watch as the darted about. A happy day with great friends and lunch once gain on the Leverett Coop picnic tables. The early darkness is no fun, so ! I hope you’re finding clever ways to get used to it.
