7/13/23 – Old Deerfield and Conway MA

Because of the rainstorm damages, it was hard to find a passable trail for today. I had “scouted” MA Audubon Conway Hills” for the group but a dilapidated bridge, soggy trail, and unusual swarms of blood thirsty mosquitoes ruled it out. So we decided to just “stroll” the dry cement sidewalks of Old Deerfield… and it was a very fine day together! We ventured behind the Historic Main Street down to the agricultural fields and found some fields underwater but some partially spared too. Then off to the Conway Pond for lunch and swimming. The water was cold!!!! But the swim – of course! – was wonderful. So too the fun of our friendship together. Hope all is OK where you are, Penny {CAPTION}
