Thursday Hikers

Est. 2013

1/16/25 – William Cullen Bryant Estate, Cummington, MA

We were in “old stomping grounds” today at the Bryant Estate’s Rivulet and Pine Loop Trails. We’ve hiked here in all seasons. Pine loop has some of the largest old growth trees in the northeast and it is wonderful to hike through them.And it was another day for Needle Ice!! Bob’s foot went way down into some as he was about to cross a small stream. We lingered and explored and even found an arc shaped piece formed by the capillary action (the action that forms all Needle Ice). Bob’s dog “Jax” was, as always, a sort of “comic relief” good company for everyone. I’ve added some short printed informtion about William Cullen Bryant and the trails. Lunch at the Creamery was delicious and full of good conversation. I had a breakfast burrito as we plotted our ideas for taking the icy plunge (dressed as salamanders!) in March at the DAR Polar Plunge fund raiser.Could be a lot of of talk and no action though!!! TBD!! It’s so easy to be thankful, Penny {CAPTION}
