We’ve hiked in all seasons at Wendell Forest. In June, the Northern Water Snakes never disappoint with their presence on the sun drenched rocks at the dam. They are sluggish in the warmth of the sun and we can get close to many of them – even a curled up baby today. (sorry, I didn’t get a photo of it). Mountain Laurel was in full bloom and we sure do love it. Group photo: Tom. Conrad, Elaine, Madge, Bob, me, Elaine, Nancy and Joe. A beaver baffle that will save a small pond but allow the beavers to build their dam; lunch; and fun at the lake looking at bullfrog tadpoles. So much else is happening of course, but on Thursdays we just hike and enjoy the beautiful forested lands of MA and the great friendships we share. Happy Anniversary to Tara and Paul today and also with happy memories of my mother who was born on June 19, 1905. Here’s to your good health! Penny
