The weather report had the rain stopping by 10am, but it just got going hard at 10 and by then we were out on the trail. It rained all day, and we’re OK with hiking in the rain and don’t pay it much attention. We went to our old stomping grounds, The Two Bridges Trail at Bullitt Reservation in Ashfield. For a change we hiked up to the Chapel Falls and then connected with the Two Bridges Trail. First photo is of a house that Phil and Ellie looked at when they were looking for a summer home. It’s still looking really good! Next photo is of the cellar hole of the home of Alvan Clark. I hope you can read its very interesting signage information. A photo from the top of Chapel Falls where we swam last summer (and will again this summer) and one of Elaine, Tony, Donna, Deb and those two good dogs, Sukee and Annie. (Baxter was on vacation in Maine.) My camera remained in my pocket for the rest of the rainy day. We were rather bedraggled when we returned to Bullit headquarters and were invited in to have tea and use their conference room for our brown bag lunches. Donna had brought a fruit salad and I had made a blueberry cake with a lemon sauce so we could celebrate Lynn’s birthday. Once again, no one had a match, so the blowing out of the birthday candle was faked and silly. Next week to the Heron Rookery! Come on up and join us, Penny
