We left cars at Sanderson Academy for the hike start, and at Bear Swamp for hike’s end. It was a very cold 6 degrees when we set out, but 3 1/2 hours and 4 miles later, the temperature had risen to 27 degrees and the sun came out and it was perfect hiking with great snowshoe conditions. But too cold for taking off gloves to take photos, so here is only a glimpse of this great hike. You can see all three dogs as we start out in the first photo. See Lynn as she declared a dramatic rest break on the way up Peter’s Hill! And then the excitement of what we think were (lots of!) Bobcat tracks, a hauntingly wonderful sight. On and on through the beautiful trails until we arrived -what seemed like all too soon – at the cars at Bear Swamp. On to Elmer’s Store for lunch and time to unwind and laugh together and get warmed up. As Deb said, “I ‘d like a mug of really hot tea, please , in the biggest mug you’ve got!” Stay warm and well, Love, Penny
