6/18/15 – Flagg Mt., Conway/Ashfield MA

Bonus photo: these roses on my garden arbor were found in the yard when we bought the house in Conway. They’re so fragrant and lovely and was Paul really liked them Thus it got to live on the arbor.
Flagg Mountain was to be an exquisite development of million dollar homes on gorgeous lots with great distance views. We don’t like development so much up here in the hills and ,what with one thing and another, it “fell through” and the land is now managed by Mass Division of Fisheries and WIldlife. The stone entrance to the development is bout all that’s left of it except for a nice road, now a hiking road, that leads to the top. It was great to have Joe back from his trip to Michigan. Along the road we found lots of ripe wild strawberries and had our fill of them. We also saw a few late blooming Columbine at a site with long views that would have been a building lot. There were no water sources, so we shared our water with our three great dogs. The Partridge Berries were blooming, showing off their curious twin blooms that becomes just one berry later on. Just before we got back to our cars, Sukee and Annie found a horrid little bit of rushes and water and soaked themselves well just before we had to put them in the car. Good thing we love them! First day of summer coming up real soon. Let’s all have great a great summer. Penny {CAPTION}
